Every Wednesday The Plaza adjacent to the Riverside County Administrative Center transforms into an urban farmers market where fresh produce and bespoke wares are sold by local farmers and artisans in the heart of downtown. Often, scale and formality of civic space can be imposing and unwelcoming. Providing public space- space not just for visitors but for the community-softens hard lines and communicates a welcoming atmosphere. The design for the CAC keeps this in mind, opening the civic center to the heart of the community.
